Life
- Friday: Bandcamp Friday (more below) AND poker with the Grohs! For those that are unaware, the first Friday of the month I go play a friendly game of poker with the Groh family as an honorary member of same. It’s the best way to spend $20 on a Friday night, and hey, you might win!
- Saturday: Took a bed, mattress frame, and some other stuff to the local township cleanup day. This was followed up by lunch and drinks at Little Hall for Pulaski Days which led to an impromptu meetup with our friends Dan and Melanie. YAY for unscheduled fun!
- Sunday: It was a wonderfully sunny day so Shalee and I went for a hike around Millenium Park, followed by a viewing of Will and Harper (it’s good!). After, we watched Will and Harper on Netflix (it’s good; trans people are people, ’nuff said). When Shalee went to bed I finished reading my book (more below).
- Today would have been my Uncle John’s birthday; more on that below.
Music
- My Bandcamp Friday purchases were slim this month: TSHA Sad Girl, Ben Böhmer Bloom, and Promenade Cinema “Cities In Dust” (Siouxsie and the Banshees cover). After this weekend it is apparent that Bloom is the big hit.
- In honor of fellow Depeche Mode devotee, my Uncle John, I’m playing Depeche Mode Music For The Masses in its entirety today, on what would have been his 60th birthday. It’s the last full album by Depeche Mode released before he passed. The vinyl copy I am playing today was his.
Reading
- As I noted above, I finished Edward Ashton Mal Goes To War. I said previously that this book was not what I expected it to be at all, but I still very much enjoyed it. I also quite liked his other books, Mickey7 and its sequel, Antimatter Blues, but similar to this book, both of those are a bit of a light read. I will say that this book seemed a touch more mature.

The Daily is a regular feature of this blog with a semiregular schedule, an attempt to encourage myself to post more often.
