loosely grouped thoughts, three sentences or less

I posted earlier today about how my friend David had a blog where he posted multiple times a day. I don’t post as often here, but I want to. I was, and am, definitely envious of his ability to post pithy things, whereas I get wordy (like now).

But I never let that inspire me to do more.

Until today.

Today I am starting something I’ll call The Daily which, as it notes above, is a loosely grouped collection of random thoughts in three sentences or less. I’m hoping this format encourages me to post more.

We’ll see.

Here we go!

Current Events

  • The fact that this election is so close gives me lots of anxiety, but also, I can’t believe so many people still support a felon and a fascist. Is the great American experiment ending? I lose sleep over this at night.
  • Florida bout to get fucked up.

Life

  • I started my Christmas shopping a few weeks ago, and then continued that this week. I’m usually the person that doesn’t start until November, but I found a couple of things for people I love. This may be the earliest I’ve ever started my Christmas shopping.
  • A friend of mine is turning 50 and loves bourbon, so I asked another friend, Ryan, what I should get him. He’s part of a podcast called It Starts With Whiskey that I think you should check out!
  • It rained on Tuesday, which makes it hard for me to get in my near daily 2.75 mile walk. It’s going to be hard to get to 250 heart points this week now.

Music

  • Jamie xx released his second solo album, In Waves last week Friday (Sept. 20) and I checked it out earlier this week. I’m really enjoying it, especially the tracks Life” and All You Children.” After listening through it a couple of times I purchased the vinyl (w/mp3 copy!) and it will be here in about a month.
  • Ever since seeing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice a week and a half ago I’ve been infatuated with the song MacArthur Park,” or perhaps more accurately, the MacArthur Park Suite” on Donna Summer’s 1978 Live And More album. I bought the album on vinyl for $1 sometime in the last year, mostly for Side Three, but Side Four plays just fine. I’m obsessed.

TV

  • Holy shit was the first episode of The Penguin good! We’ll be covering this on The Kybercast when we record this evening.

The Daily is a regular feature of this blog with a semiregular schedule, an attempt to encourage myself to post more often.
