Five links that I found interesting for one reason or another
Krista Bourgeois - Modular Live Set @ PRSPCTXL 33 - Today the algorithm introduced me to hardcore industrial DJ Krista Bourgeois and I think I’ve found my new musical obsession for the week. I’m already finding tracks on Bandcamp to purchase during the next Bandcamp Friday.
Good Hang with Amy Poehler - I love Shalee dearly, but if ever there was a celebrity that I would run away with it might be Amy Poehler. Yes, I’ve read her book, yes I saw Moxie, her directorial debut, and OFCOURSE I adored almost every episode of Parks and Recreation, and yes, I am now listening/watching her new podcast. Is she the best? Of course not, this podcast is new and she’s still getting her feet under her, but it’s very entertaining to listen to what comedians find funny.
301 Permanently Moved - 2505: Helpful LLocal Models - I found this to be a very interesting insight into the future of local, as in on your own machines, AI and how it might do some good. The entire episode is only five minutes long and is worth the listen.
These Are The World’s Happiest Countries in 2025 - Spoiler alert: Finland leads the world in happiness, again. While I get that the culture of the Nordic countries is far more homogeneous than others (even the UK and USA), I marvel at the entire Nordic model and pine for it. They’re clearly doing something right and I want to believe it has nothing to do with homogeneity (because that leads to racism/nationalism, and perhaps, fascism, which Finland is most assuredly not). The big question is if such happiness can be found in even more heterogeneous settings. I hope so.
Depeche Mode announce new epic live movie ‘M’ - It is common for Depeche Mode to release some kind of live video after one of their tours has ended, usually a year or more after its conclusion, so why should the Memento Mori Tour be any different? That’s not a complaint, I am all for this. Hell, I want to see it in the theater, and yes, I will most likely own in on BluRay as well. Of course, this probably means that we will be getting recordings from these performances as well, possibly packaged with the film. This is also a good thing. In case it wasn’t obvious, I love me some Depeche Mode.
High Five is a regular feature of this blog with an irregular schedule; just five links to things I found to be interesting.
