Life (aka Shit Like This Fucks With Me)
- I did some searching online to confirm my Uncle John’s year of birth and stumbled upon my Uncle Dan’s obituary from when he passed 14 years ago at 50. I’m 50, and will soon be 51 (hopefully). I am now older than my uncle was when he passed, and he was someone that I always considered to be so much older than me; shit like this fucks with me.
- Found out the guy that succeeded me when I was promoted at my last place of employment passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. We were not close, but he was a good guy that loved dachshunds and his two daughters, one who recently (last couple of years) got married and another about to get engaged. He was only a few years older than I am; shit like this fucks with me.
- I consider my own mortality daily, several times a day. Does anyone else do this?

- This morning’s soundtrack are the albums Depeche Mode Catching Up With Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys Very on vinyl.
Sports
- Hey, the Tigers beat the Guardians! My daughter’s b/f told me that the pitcher, Clase, had given up something like five runs the rest of the season when Kerry Carpenter drilled it! Bring on game three!
TV
- Three episodes in, I stand by my earlier assessment that The Penguin is the best show on TV right now. It’s so damn good.
