Life
- Friday: I ended up working a touch late on Friday, so went for a walk after to get my Heart Points in, but halfway into my walk I stepped in a crack, rolled my ankle, and ate shit. I was OK, but as I was wearing my earbuds I did not realize how loud I was when I did it, nor how I was yelling “OK! OK!” as I got up, but Shalee assured me that it was hilarious. Later, because of my increased anxiety lately I did what has become a new favorite thing to do on Friday evenings: eat an edible and chill the fuck out.
- Saturday: Woke up, did some chores about the house, then went to East Lansing to grab a bite to eat at Creole Burger, which we were surprised to find had closed at the end of September. Moved to Ozone Brewing, had burgers, then moved to the commuter lot at MSU to tailgate before the Iowa game. Was surprised, but happy, to have an MSU win (also, U of M lost!)!
- Sunday: Made a Dutch baby for the first time, but subbed heavy cream for whole milk, which resulted in a more custardy concoction than I had anticipated; more chores, more chilling. I am now 50% of the way through Human Acts, which I am enjoying despite it being brutal in its depiction of the Korean uprising in the 80s and the death connected to such. We also watched the Lions defeat The Vikings, so this made us very happy.
Music
- I’m still very much enthralled with Led Zeppelin In Through The Out Door, though perturbed by the fact my new vinyl seems to be skipping during “Fool In The Rain” despite the fact that it has played without issue several times since I received it. I’m cleaning it again today and if it still skips I’ll send it back. Regardless, I love this album far more than I thought I would.
Podcast
- As if I wasn’t enough types of nerd already I decided to listen to In Our Time “Knights Templar” and really enjoyed it.
