Five links that I found interesting for one reason or another
- Easy To Walk In, Hard To Stay - I like this life philosophy.
- If You Want To Belong, Find a Third place - On the importance of third places, a place beyond your home and work.
- ’X-Men ’97’ validates your nostalgia while looking to the future - Listen, this show is fantastic, NO question, but I was not a child when it came out, like Millennials were. It doesn’t hit me in the nostalgia feels, because it can’t. And that’s OK, it’s still a really good show.
- A Remarkable Typeface Resurfaces from the Thames After Being Dumped in the River More than a Century Ago - Perhaps appealing to a very esoteric type of nerd (me), but I thought that this article about a “perfect” typeface being rediscovered to be very interesting.
- What Can We Learn From Millions of High School Yearbook Photos? - I admit to being fascinated when economists apply their science to culture and such, not unlike the enthralling books Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics. Come for the bits on yearbook photos, but stay for the data that suggest gender roles were realized because of a plow.
High Five is a regular feature of this blog with an irregular schedule; just five links to things I found to be interesting.
