Kind of a big day here at the homestead.
I just finished Quiety Hostile: Essays by Samantha Irby. It was a good book (I gave it four stars), but looking at my GoodReads.com history I see that I started the book on July 17, 2023.
Yep, 10 months.
Literally a few days ago I wasn’t even 50% of the way through it.
And now? Finished.
To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with the book nor its author; the problem is entirely with me.
Why so long? Well, I got the physical copy from the library but then I also got involved in another book, and then involved in Patrick Stewart’s biography, so I had the book far longer than I should have. I returned it when I saw that the ebook copy was available. I borrowed that sometime this fall, maybe, and then didn’t finish it in time to return it.
So I put my Kindle into airplane mode and it sat there, unread, for months.
But I finished it this week, and hey! I liked it!
Sigh…
I’m an idiot.
