I’m not sure how I first came across Nils Frahm, but it must been right before his album Music for Animals came out in September of 2022 because I see that I purchased the album the following month. I remember become engrossed in tracks like “The Dog with 1000 Faces” and “Sheep in Black and White,” eventually falling in love with the entire album.
I’ve recently begun to take a deeper dive into his oeuvre and am pleased to find almost as many ambient soundscapes as I am piano pieces. I’ve since learned that he got his start performing the latter but has morphed into the former, and now back again (as evidenced by his forthcoming album Day, link here if interested).
I find this piece enthralling; enjoy!
