Five links that I found interesting for one reason or another
- Listen To Nature Sounds, Fall In Love With The Earth - Want to hear nature come to life during a morning in Kenya? Or a thunderstorm in the Alps? This site is full of natural noises.
- Full Calendar On A Single Page - I think the site itself says it best: “Take in the year all at once. Fold it up and carry it with you. Jot down your notes on it. Plan things out and observe the passage of time…”
- Studio Life - My friend David has an engaging blog about creativity, travel, and Korea. Here he links to a video that demonstrates his life goals.
- If You’re Just Not A Morning Person, Science Says You May Never Be - As a lifelong “night owl” I can attest to you that I am not lazy, I simply abhor mornings. Likewise, I get a spurt of productivity right around 4-5PM, which is not the greatest when you work a 9-to-5 type job. I often get another burst of productivity again in the evening, and again at the time I am supposed to be going to sleep. I would love to be able to go to bed at a “normal” hour and be creative and productive when society thinks that I should be, but I’m literally not built that way, and I’m not alone. I’ve accepted this.
- Portraitist Michael Deas And The Art Of Postage Stamps - Guilty pleasure confession: I love CBS Sunday Morning, mostly because they often include segments like this about topics I wouldn’t normally look into. There’s no question that Michael Deas is keenly talented. I’m fascinated by his passion for taking on stamp commissions even though they’re not particularly lucrative. I’m enthralled by artists and the artistic process, especially the “why” of it.
High Five is a regular feature of this Our Geek This Week with an irregular schedule; just five links to things I found to be interesting.
Enjoy!
